Mithra, is a rising junior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, WA. She has been immersed in the rich tradition of Bharatanatyam for over a decade, training under the devoted guidance of her guru, Smt. Preetha Anandh. Beginning her journey at the age of six, Mithra has cultivated a profound connection to this timeless art form. Her passion is fueled by the exhilaration of mastering intricate rhythms and dynamic movements, a joy that continues to deepen her devotion to Bharatanatyam as a divine and expressive discipline. Mithra is also a member of Nritya (the Bharatanatyam dance team) at her high school.
Beyond dance, Mithra enjoys playing pool, paddle boarding, and spending time with friends. She is also a talented artist with a passion for arts and crafts. In addition, Mithra loves baking and has proudly taken on the role of “pastry chef” at family gatherings. Additionally, Mithra is fluent in her mother tongue Tamil and is excited to start volunteering as a teacher in her local Tamil school.

Guru Smt. Preetha Anandh’s journey in the realm of Bharatanatyam is a testament to unwavering dedication, refined artistry, and lifelong devotion. She commenced her training under the esteemed Kalaimamani Smt. Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala, gracefully mastering the intricate beauty of the Pandanallur style. To further deepen her practice, she underwent advanced training in the Kalakshetra tradition under Sri Renjith Babu, a devoted disciple of the legendary C.V. Chandrasekar.
As the founder of KalaAlaya School of Dance, Guru Preetha Anandh has been nurturing and inspiring young dancers since 2009. Her innovative choreography and heartfelt dedication to teaching speak to her profound love for Bharatanatyam. With over three decades of experience, she continues to guide and shape the next generation of artists, leaving a lasting impact on the global stage of classical dance.

Mithra’s love for dance has been nurtured by the constant encouragement of her family. Her parents have been her biggest cheerleaders, supporting her with patience, love, and dedication through every step of this journey. Her grandparents, relatives, and close friends have also surrounded her with blessings and joy, celebrating her passion for Bharatanatyam along the way. This arangetram is as much a reflection of their love and support as it is of Mithra’s hard work and devotion.
